Alpine skiing

Alpine skiing combines several sports disciplines, comprising slalom, giant slalom, super giant slalom, downhill, as well as combined, which includes slalom and downhill.

The first international Alpine skiing competitions were held in 1911 in Montana. International Ski Federation (FIS) is responsible for the development of Alpine skiing. In 1931, Alpine skiing technical committee was established. In the same year, the first World Cup was held in Mürren, Switzerland.

Competition Format:

  • Men: Alpine Combined (AC), Super G (SG), Giant slalom (GS), Slalom (SL)
  • Women: Alpine Combined (AC), Super G (SG), Giant slalom (GS), Slalom (SL)
  • Parallel Nations Team Event
