Khabar News Agency And Kazakhstan TV And Radio Broadcasting Corporation Are The Universiade 2017's Official News Partners

Khabar News Agency and Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation have become the official news partners of the upcoming 28th Worldwide Winter Universiade 2017.

Thus, national TV sports channel Kazsport, part of Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation, is the general broadcaster of the Universiade 2017 and the official broadcaster of the Universiade's Torch Relay.

Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation has been providing coverage of the Universiade since March 2016. Since then, the Kazsport TV channel has been showing its own programme entitled “On the Path to the Universiade 2017”. These coming days TV viewers will watch the most exciting moments of the event in special broadcasts, programmes and the Torch Relay Diaries and the Universiade Diaries. Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation will televise competitions in all 12 sport events in which athletes compete at the Universiade - ice hockey, freestyle, snowboarding, figure skating, ski races, biathlon, ski jumping, alpine skiing, speed skating, curling, short track and Nordic combination.

Competitions will be covered by 20 sports commentators who include experienced commentators : Yesey Zhenisuly, Yermek Toreniyazov, Rinat Altaybayev, Shalkar Yesten, Andrey Litsov, Samat Kanagatov and many others, all of whom are well-known to fans. Also, sports commentators of the Kazsport TV channel will be joined by a sportsman Yevgeniy Levkin who won gold in ski jumping at the 7th Asian Games in 2011.

As a whole, Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation will dedicate to Universiade 2017 more than 260 hours of its air time. Kazakhstan and Kazsport TV will broadcast more than 140 programmes of more than 220 hours will be via. Sixty broadcasts of original programmes are planned to go on air.

Khabar TV channel will air competitions in five winter sports - biathlon, alpine skiing, Nordic combination, ski races and ice hockey. As a whole, the TV broadcaster is planning to provide nearly 60 broadcasts majority of which will go on live. In particular, the Opening ceremony of the games which will take place at 19:00 on January 29 at the Almaty Arena Stadium. One day prior to the official opening, on 28 January, there will be transmissions of two group ice hockey plays between Slovakia and the UK at 12:30 and Kazakhstan and China at 19:30.

Didar Sagadiyev, the Head of the Office of the Directorate for Preparing and Holding the 28th Worldwide Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty noted that “The technical capacities available to Khabar News Agency and Kazakhstan TV and Radio Broadcasting Corporation will make it possible for every Kazakhstani to watch the Universiade 2017 games. We wish to note that competitions among athletes, the Opening ceremony and the Closing ceremony will be broadcast by TV channels EUROSPORT and EUROSPORT2”.

Sport commentators at Khabar TV channel's broadcasts will include viewers’ favourites Yerzhan Zhirenbayev, Yermukhamed Maulen, Zhandos Aitpaiuly, Aibek Kabylshayev, Sergey Railyan, Yevgeniy Akmanov and Andrey Neklyudov who boast of an experience in covering high-profile sport events, including the Olympic Games.

Yerlan Igisinov, Deputy Director of Khabar TV Channel said that “Our technical crew, journalists and sport commentators who have gained a massive experience are well prepared for these games. Any sport event lends a festive mood and unites all sorts of people, both sportsmen and fans. We want to transfuse this mood to our TV viewers who will have a chance to witness the rise of new sport stars, catching competitions and new records for more than a week”.

In addition, on 25-29 January news programs on Khabar TV channel and Khabar 24 TV channel cover one more dazzling event – the Universiade's Torch Relay that will run across the whole country.

“We have attempted to organise the work in such a way as to make it convenient to all right holders. For example, the international broadcasting centre will work 24 hours a day. Our sport facilities are equipped with the cutting-edge cabling infrastructure that is compatible with any TV broadcasting equipment”.
