Australian biathlonist Jeremy Flanagan: I have great impressions of Kazakhstan.

21-year-old Australian biathlete Jeremy Flanagan shared his impressions of his stay in Kazakhstan, and told how he got into this sport.

-- I have an incredible experience of your country - Jeremy said. - I almost did not hear anything about Kazakhstan. I only knew that it is in another part of the world. Today we had the official training, and I am happy with your sports facility. This is one of the best biathlon stadiums I have ever seen in my life. This is great.

- What result do you expect in Almaty?

- I will do my job and try to demonstrate my skills. There are many strong biathlonists at the Universiade. I participated in the last World Students Games in Slovakia and in Almaty I will try to improve my results.

- How do you train in Australia as it is hard to find snow.

-  Yes, in Australia it is difficult to find snow. We have a lot of training facilities. We do a lot of running, swimming, cycling. Plus in South Australia we have a small ski resort. It is 800 meters above sea level. However it does not snow much maybe once per month of the season.

-  Why did you choose biathlon?

-I agree that it is an unfamiliar sport for Australia. I used to do running but I injured my knee and could not do running or cycling anymore. However my injured knee is not a big problem for biathlon. When I tried I said to myself that I can do this. I enjoy doing this.

In addition, Jeremy Flanagan came to Almaty with his little brother who will also participate in biathlon.
