2016 Winter Youth Olympic bronze medalist in figure skating 16-year old Elizabet Tursynbayeva became a torch-bearer of the Universiade-2017 torch relay that took place in Kyzyl-Orda .
- It is a pleasure to be a torch-bearer, - Elizabet said. – It is such a pity I will not be able to take part in the Universiade in my home country but it is ok. I am still young and will have another chance to take part in the next one. I will not be able to watch any of the competitions because I need to get ready for my own. I am planning to take part in the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and the Asian Games. But I am going to root for all Kazakh athletes, especially those who are from Kyzyl-Orda.
