I am a volunteer at the Universiade: Sabina Hamit

Sabina Hamit is the second year  student at the Almaty Management University. She explained why she became the volunteer of the Universiade of 2017.

From January 28 to February 8 Almaty will hold the main start of this year – the Winter Universiade-2017. The city will plunge into a holiday of sport, art and culture. Not only athletes from different countries of the world, but also volunteers without the aid of whom it will be hard to imagine any large-scale action and who create special atmosphere. About 3000 volunteer assistants from different regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries are involved in holding the Universiade - 2017.

- I became the volunteer because it is important for me to make sure that Universiade will be held at the high level, - begins our conversation with Sabine. - The volunteer - the person who will make everything that depends on him, without requiring instead of nothing, but at the same time receiving a lot of things. It is very important to be necessary and useful.

- What qualities does the volunteer should have?

- It seems to me, the volunteer first of all should be the kind person, sympathetic, ready to come for the assistance on the first call. If to consider the example of the Universiade, then it is necessary to have some abilities such as; to understand foreign languages, to have managerial abilities, and also to act in a creative manner.

- Do you have any relation to sport in general?

- Of course. I have a sports family, the father used to play volleyball, elder sister plays volleyball as well. All members of my family like to spend free time actively. Since our childhood we were sent to different sports sections. We were accustomed to be active.

- What competitions of the Universiade are you going to watch?

- With the great interest I will watch figure skating, alpine skiing and ice hockey. Because of the employment in the volunteer work I won't be able to visit many competitions, but I will follow for the results on the Internet. I hope that our athletes will win as much as possible medals, hopefully medals will be of the highest advantage.
